It Was the Girls' Turn!

By Haley Owen
Staff Writer

Crazy lights, loud music, and plenty of dancing. This year’s vice versa was awesome! The dance was held in the PHHS gym on Saturday, February 27.

The deejay played a great variety of music. It took a few songs, but eventually everyone was out on the floor dancing. Students had fun while dancing to line dances such as the Cha Cha Slide and the Cupid Shuffle.

This night was extra special for one student. It happened to be Megan Kelch’s 17th birthday. The deejay made a special announcement for her, and played a happy birthday song.

This dance was a little different from previous vice versa’s held at PHHS. All profits from ticket sales went to a Haiti relief fund to help them comeback from the devastating earthquake that shattered the small island country a few weeks ago. Another new thing was the election of the king and queen. Instead of students voting for fellow students, they put money into the envelope of their favorite teacher. At the end of the week, the money was counted and whoever had the most, was to be crowned at the dance. The queen was Mrs. Poole and the king, Mr. Fluga.

Overall, the dance was great! With the money from tickets and the donations for king and queen, we raised $550 for Haiti. Thank you to everyone that contributed!
