Girls' Basketball

By Celena Hoffstatter
Staff Writer

Have you ever had the overwhelming feeling of completely blocking everything out and just focusing on what’s in front of you? For the girls’ basketball team this was a regular feeling. Whatever may be bothering them is all left in the locker room. When they sit down at the bench they are ready to go, everything else doesn’t matter. They have their eyes on the prize, and they don’t dare look away.

At the beginning of the year, they wanted to focus on improving daily and being more aggressive. Although this was not a winning season, all of the games were played with intensity and fire, and in many games the score was so close! Although the varsity didn’t come out of the season with any wins, they played their hearts out. The JV team, who played with equal intensity, won two games. All team members improved their skills and will take that with them for as they continue to improve next year.

Its off-season now and there are various camps they can do to help them stay in shape and improve on their skills. Anyone who is interested in one of these camps can see Coach Lowe for more information.

The girls’ basketball team had a tough season this year! They improved their skills and played with intensity. We are looking forward to next year!
